Many digital scrapbookers recommend printing your own pages on an inkjet photo printer, but unless you're going to print odd sizes, it requires a sizeable investment.
A wide-format inkjet printer can cost anywhere from $500 to $1000 and 12x12 inkjet photo scrapbooking paper typically costs about $2 per sheet. The ink in these printers is extremely volatile and subject to fading and bleeds when exposed to moisture. This is not the ideal environment for something that is intended to be passed on to future generations.
